Luxury provider Hamberley Care Homes is celebrating a significant milestone as every home in its portfolio that’s been inspected is now rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or ‘Very Good’ by Care Inspectorate Scotland.
Montague House Care Home, near Huntingdon, has just been rated ‘Good’ across four criteria, and ‘Outstanding’ in Caring, following a recent visit from the CQC.
Inspectors complimented the service, based in Brampton, as being ‘exceptional in ensuring people's care, support and treatment consistently met their needs, preferences and personal aspirations’.
This latest CQC success means the regulator has rated 20 English homes ‘Good’, with the provider’s two Scottish homes rated ‘Very Good’ by the Care Inspectorate Scotland.
Montague House is the third Hamberley care home to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating for ‘Caring’. This success has been credited to the effectiveness of the unique Homemaker model, which ensures residents receive care in a natural and nurturing way, just as they would in their own home.
The CQC report for Montague House detailed examples of when Homemakers found exceptional ways to support residents.
They wrote: “The provider consistently adapted support to achieve outcomes that were meaningful to people. For one person whose declining mobility had prevented them from attending a family wedding, the service transformed its cinema room into a private celebration space and displayed wedding photographs on the big screen so they could share in the occasion.”
Montague House Manager, Paula Yorkston Toy, was recognised for her positive impact on residents, colleagues and the running of the home.
