On Thursday 30th May, the gardens of Alston House were filled with music, laughter, and more than a few teddy bears, as residents, families, and local friends came together for a truly magical Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
The afternoon event was held in partnership with Eastleigh BID, who helped us bring the day to life with wonderful entertainment and a community feel that was second to none. From the moment guests arrived, the joy was contagious — and the teddy bears were out in full force!
Face Painting Fun
Children and families were treated to free face painting by the talented Fantazzy Face Painter, creating colourful butterflies, superheroes, and more throughout the day.
Balloon Magic
We were delighted to welcome Rob the Bowtie Balloon Guy, whose balloon artistry amazed residents and children alike. His visit brought huge smiles as he created all sorts of fun shapes and characters — a definite highlight!
Music, Stories & Fancy Dress
The garden was filled with the sounds of music and the charm of teddy bear-themed storytelling. Guests were encouraged to come in fancy dress, and many arrived in creative costumes that added a playful spirit to the day.
Picnic Delights
Our team laid out a delicious spread of sandwiches, fruit, cupcakes, and refreshments — and families were welcome to bring their own picnic favourites too. It was a true community gathering, enjoyed by all ages.
Events like these are part of our ongoing mission at Alston House to create meaningful connections and joyful experiences for our residents and their loved ones. We’re proud to open our doors to the wider community and celebrate together in such a warm, inclusive way.
Thank you to everyone who joined us — especially our furry friends!
